What is Koyo?

Koyo is a language learning app designed to help you reconnect with your African heritage by learning languages like Yoruba, Igbo, and Edo. With interactive modules, a rich dictionary, daily words and phrases, and cultural insights, Koyo makes learning engaging, practical, and culturally immersive. Whether you're exploring your roots, improving your fluency, or connecting with family, Koyo supports your journey every step of the way.

What languages can I learn on Koyo?

You can currently learn Yoruba, Igbo, and Edo. We’re continuously working to expand our library with more African languages.

Is Koyo free?

Yes! Koyo is currently free for all learners. We’re committed to making language learning accessible, but please note that some features or content may become paid in the future as we continue to expand and improve Koyo.

Is Koyo only for beginners?

No. Koyo is designed for learners at all levels. While beginners can start with foundational lessons, more advanced learners can deepen their knowledge through modules, vocabulary building, and cultural context.

Can children use Koyo?

Yes, children can use Koyo with adult supervision.

Can I learn more than one language at a time?

Yes, you can learn multiple languages at once. To update your preferences:

Log in to the app
Go to Profile (bottom-right corner)
Select Language Preferences and choose your desired language

Can I switch between languages?

Yes, you can switch between languages at any time from your language preferences.

Click on settings (top-right corner)
Select Language Preferences and choose your desired language

Can I use Koyo offline?

No, Koyo requires an internet connection to access its features.
